Then, using our Matching Service, our patent pending software matches the law firms to your needs. The law firms sign up to our client service code and abide by the Law Society regulations.

Yes. There are no hidden costs, fees, or other charges. Even after you find a lawyer using TakeLegalAdvice.com, there is no obligation to hire that lawyer. TakeLegalAdvice.com provides you with a choice of lawyers for FREE. You can then decide to hire a lawyer, or not.
- Q: Why should people use TakeLegalAdvice.com to find a law firm?

Traditionally, people have found lawyers through phone books, directories, or friends. Unfortunately these provide little information to show you whether these firms are suitable for you. Friends, though probably well meaning, may steer you towards a totally inappropriate lawyer.
With TakeLegalAdvice.com:
1) Our automated matching system only matches you with lawyers that meet the specifications you entered when presenting your case.
2) You will have access to detailed information on all lawyers who respond to your case - a cost estimate for the case, a description of their services, and user ratings. Until you select a law firm to contact you your details remain confidential. You stay in control of the process and can make an informed decision about hiring the most suitable lawyer for your problem. - Q: How secure and confidential are my details on the site?

Totally - the site uses a Verisign approved SSL (Secure Socket Layer) server to protect your information. Your contact details are not shown to any law firms until you decide - when you have clicked on a box saying to release your details to the law firm, and this is only after you have viewed law firm replies in your password protection online account.
All of your information is completely confidential from other users. We will not distribute your personal information to any other organization (apart from the law firms involved in the matching service), nor will we use it for any other purpose other than to help you find the right lawyer. Likewise, lawyers will not know your identity or contact information until you decide to reveal them.

Several factors make us unique:
1) TakeLegalAdvice.com is not a referral service. When a consumer presents their issue on TakeLegalAdvice.com, our system matches the consumer's case to lawyers based on the specifics of the consumer's case, cost, location and the area of legal practice. The selection process is completely independent. (Law firms pay an annual membership fee to be part of TakeLegalAdvice.com. TakeLegalAdvice.com does not receive a referral fee for your introduction to them, which means we can be totally objective.)
2) It gives you, the consumer, the information to make an informed choice on your law firm. You have access to unique user ratings.
3) TakeLegalAdvice.com is completely confidential. You're given the power to confidentially and thoroughly review the experience, track record, availability, and fee structure of pre-screened lawyers who match your criteria before deciding whom to contact. Throughout this entire process your details remain confidential to the law firms.
4) Information is power. With our community forums and user ratings, consumers can really start to understand the services and quality of services out there from first hand consumer experience; in the same way Ebay and Amazon work.
- Q: Using the Matching Service, when can I expect to receive a response?

Within 24-48 hours during weekdays. This allows sufficient time for law firms to review and respond to your case. If you make your submission on Friday, you will hear back on Monday or Tuesday.
- Q: What response do I receive from the Matching Service?

The Matching Service software aims to provide you with a choice of law firms that match your profile and needs. You will receive an email alert with a link back to a page on the site showing a page of law firm responses.
- Q: What happens if I receive no responses?

In the unlikely event that this happens, either try the matching service again (completing the pages from the “Find a Law firm” tab, or try varying your selection criteria a little, for example adding more locations from the dropdown menu)
