Kate qualified as a solicitor in 1994 having trained with Linklaters. She joined Dawsons in 2001 from Travers Smith Braithwaite and became a partner in 2002.

Kate specialises in High Court litigation, although she has also been involved in a number of arbitrations and mediations. Kate is experienced  in dealing with contentious trust and probate claims and has advised clients on challenges to wills on grounds of invalidity, revocation and estoppel, as well as family provision claims. She has written for the Trusts and Estates Gazette and been recommended in this area by Chambers. Kate is an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and is also a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association.
